BSPY5 Shanghai, China
During the June holidays, our Year 5 Bicultural Studies Programme scholars flew to Shanghai, China for a 16-day immersion trip.
The main highlight of the immersion trip was a series of 8 lectures conducted in Fudan University and Shanghai Jiaotong University. The 8 lectures covered areas such as China’s economy, social development, culture and international relations. Our students had the chance to tour the school campus of both prestigious univerisities and interacted with our alumni currently doing a degree in Fudan University to experience how it is like to study and live overseas.
On top of attending lectures, our students visited corporations such as the Baosteel Group Corporation and Bread Talk’s office in Shanghai to learn the competition and challenges faced by these companies. The students also visited some of Shanghai’s landmarks such as the Shanghai Orient Pearl Tower, Museum of Shanghai’s Developmental History and so on to appreciate the rapid development of Shanghai over the last 50 years.
During the trip, our students paid a visit to Jinshan High School of Shanghai and interacted with their counterparts there. Students from both schools exchanged their views on the common challenges faced during their learning and fostered closer ties with each other.
Our students found the trip very meaningful and felt their time spent in Shanghai was an enriching experience.
