DHS Community Service Club Launches Inaugural “D’Green” E-Magazine!
On 20th April 2018, Dunman High celebrated Youth for the Environment Day (YED) 2018. YED serves as a platform for youths to lead, organise and take part in environmental programmes to show their passion and commitment towards global and local environmental issues.
In conjunction with YED, the DHS Community Service Club’s Environmental Branch (CSC-EB) has launched its very own e-publication for the first time! Aptly named “D’Green”, the inaugural e-magazine aims to raise awareness of environmental issues, share about what Dunmanians have been doing to conserve the environment, and rally Dunmanians to do their part for a cleaner and greener world.
The link to Issue One of D’Green: “The Recycling Issue”, may be found here:
In addition to the D’Green E-Magazine, the CSC-EB has also launched a series of efforts to help Dunmanians play their part in environmental conservation:
Singapore has designated 2018 as our Year of Climate Action. Our national goal is to reduce carbon emissions intensity by 36 percent, with the aim of stabilising our carbon emissions by 2030. This year, the YED focus is on: “Climate Action for a Sustainable Future”, encouraging the public to do our part to fight climate change. Certain things we can do are shown in the infographic below:
The CSC-EB also shared a link to the speech by Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR), on YED 2018. This message was also read to all Dunmanians during flag-raising in Term 2 Week 5.
In order to follow-up on this year’s theme, the CSC-EB also urges all Dunmanians to use the following link to pledge to make concrete changes in daily life in a collective fight against climate change:
To a cleaner and greener Singapore, and planet Earth!
