East Zone COE T&L Professional Sharing Day
Dunman High School teachers, together with more than 160 participants from schools in the East Zone came together to attend the Teaching and Learning Professional Sharing organised by the East Zone Centre of Excellence for Teaching and Learning on 14 September 2012.
In his welcome address, Dr Foo Suan Fong, Principal of Dunman High School, highlighted the importance of building a culture of sharing and collaboration among the East Zone schools in order to level up the professional competency and curriculum leadership of the teaching fraternity. Following his speech, Dr Foo presented certicificates of appreciation to the school representatives of those sharing in the concurrent sessions.
The 14 September event saw over 30 individuals and teams from the primary and secondary schools contributing their good and innovative practices and ideas, in teaching and learning. Besides picking up useful classroom practices, participants were able to benefit from the cross levels and subjects sharing to gain a greater understanding of our school education in terms of content, pedagogy or assessment.
Without doubt, many participants were inspired by the enthusiasm and generosity of the teachers who took time and effort to prepare and share their ideas and journeys in helping their students learn better.
The EZ COE (T&L) looks forward to providing a variety of platforms for the East Zone teachers to come together to grow and to learn in the year 2013.
