East Zone COE T&L Professional Sharing Day
The Professional Sharing Day was successfully organised by the East Zone COE for Teaching & Learning, Dunman High School on 24 July 2015. The platform was created to enhance the professional competencies of teachers through the sharing of innovative and effective teaching and learning practices with each other.
In his opening address, Dr Foo Suan Fong, Principal of Dunman High School, emphasised that the key to be a great teacher is to be a life-long learner. The Professional Sharing Day provides the teaching fraternity with an opportunity to improve the understanding and application of pedagogy, curriculum design and assessment, so that teachers can be empowered to better address the diverse learning needs of our students. Dr Foo also expressed appreciation to EZ COE Chinese Language, Chung Cheng High School (Main) for their partnership in this year’s sharing. Their collaboration had led to a wider selection of Chinese Language sessions for the EZ participants this year.
On this occasion, 77 teachers including Lead Teachers, Senior Teachers and aspiring STs from the 23 East Zone schools and the Educational Technology Division stepped forward to conduct 32 concurrent sessions. More than 300 participants from the East Zone schools, including some educators from Taiwan, attended the event and treated themselves to an afternoon of enriching presentations.
